A man is jailed for two years after pleading guilty to a conspiracy to supply and distribute counterfeit and misbranded drugs in the early 2000s. The crime is being prosecuted by a West Midlands Police Department. The defendant, Mr Paul Dukes, was found guilty on Friday of being a conspirator in the manufacture and supply of a counterfeit and misbranded “Viagra” tablets to unauthorised sale, of which he was not identified. Police in West bleed from a suspected cocaine and methamphetamine overdose and two other suspected offences of selling, possessing and distributing controlled substances, including drugs from a “drug supply” operation. Mr Paul Dukes, of Westfield, is being sentenced by the West Midlands Police, after being released from prison.
Mr Paul Dukes, of Westfield, had been convicted by a West Midlands Police Special Commission in March 2001, having pleaded guilty to the offence of “conspiracy to supply and distribute counterfeit, adulterated and misbranded drugs.” He pleaded guilty before Judge David O'Grady to the charge of “selling or possessing” drugs. Following a hearing on sentencing, Judge O’Grady sentenced Mr Dukes to three years’ imprisonment.
A number of people were arrested for the crime in 2002 and more were prosecuted, including Mr Dukes, on March 31, 2003. In September 2002, the West Midlands Police arrested Mr Dukes after a series of raids in the North West and East Midlands. These were the first offences in the country to be charged with having sold, supplied and distributed controlled substances to unauthorised sale, of which he was not identified. These included:
These offences were not registered in the West Midlands Police, but in the United Kingdom, and were prosecuted by the West Midlands Police. The West Midlands Police has been given the green light to conduct investigations into this case.
A West Midlands Police Department spokesperson said: "The West Midlands Police Department, after being notified that a large number of people were arrested for selling, possessing and distributing controlled drugs, including drugs from a drug supply operation, have received their statutory permission and are committed to conducting investigations into this case."Mr Paul Dukes, of Westfield, was jailed for two years after pleading guilty to two counts of “conspiracy to supply and supply to unauthorised sale,” of which two counts were also charged in the first offence. On 14 March 2023, the UK Medicines regulator approved an application to reclassify the erectile dysfunction medication Cialis. When marketed asCialis Together(tadalafil 10mg), it will be a ‘P’ (pharmacy) medication, and so available ‘over the counter’ in pharmacies – see. This follows the 2018, ‘P’ classification of (sildenafil 50mg) which has been available OTC, without a prescription, since then.
